TED is a small nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
The theme of TEDx Hamburg 2013 as City 2.0.
How will our living conditions change? Healthcare? Energy? Mobility? TEDxHamburg invited the movers, shakers and visionaries of this world to present their ideas and projects that are already, or will be, changing the future of our cities and ultimately our lives. Bridging the gap between rich and poor communities, reducing our carbon footprints, reintroducing nature into dense metropolises, reimagining education and urban design; those are only a few of the topics that require truly powerful ideas worth spreading. On June 4th, 2013, we had a closer look at the future of urban living and what society can and is doing to transform our cities 1.0 into the future: the city 2.0.
