SOME SOUND APPEARS IN MANY PLACES
BUT DON’T TELL OTHERS WHERE THE SOUNDS ARE HIDDEN

Peek-a-sound is a game and a collaborative music performance. The technology is battery powered motion sensors with built-in media players so that can be put or attached anywhere. The sounds played by the sensors are composed so that they match the ambience music in the room. By finding sounds, the visitors become part of the composition. As the sound appear from every possible place in the room(s), the music also becomes multi-dimensional, far beyond surround 5.1. Right now peek-a-sound contains a total of 10 motion sensors but the system can be expanded to fill bigger or more rooms. Solving the mystery, finding the secret sounds becomes a collaborative, interactive music composition.
Mysterious, electronic music is heard in the gallery. The visitors look for hidden sounds in different places, under furniture, inside boxes, behind shelves etc. Each place play unique sounds with variations everyone someone discovers the sound. When opening a drawer or looking under a table or in a hidden corner, different sounds are heard. The visitors can play a game of finding all sounds – or just explore the possibilities to interact with the music. Find and trigger indivisual sounds or collaborate with other visitors and trigger them simultaiously to get more complex musical gestures.
